This gripping sci-fi novel is about the Loric, a group of aliens who are being hunted by the Mogadores, another alien species who wish for the extinction of the Loric. Only nine children and their overseers escape. These children have special powers, known as Legacies, and the Mogadores will go to extreme lengths to exterminate them. The only thing that protects them is that they are ordered 1-9, and that under an ancient Loric spell - they can only be killed in that numerical order.
