Mia’s family moved to America from China when she was young, because things were much more ‘freer’ there. They were financially poor, so when free accommodation at a motel was announced (if they agreed to manage the motel, which they did) Mia’s parents saw the light at the end of the tunnel. But it wasn’t: in fact, it was the start of their misery and their sleepless nights. Meanwhile, at Mia’s school, she and her writing were looked down at by everyone, apart from her best friend Lupe who commended her writing, but at the same time, corrected the errors that she made. Soon (after lots of labour and struggle), Mia’s parents were going to make the wrong decision… a decision that could make their life from bad to hell…

Will Mia be able to stop the horrible action?
