We can make it through this

In these tough and difficult times,

There are negative thoughts in people’s minds.

With all the stress and all the worry,

Why won’t the days just hurry!

Till the end of lockdown,

When all our frowns are turned around.

When we are free to wander and walk,

Meet in person, play and talk, With all the people we dearly miss,

Give great big hugs, perhaps a kiss.

We can have the best of fun!

Once all of this is done.

And it will go! But in the meantime,

You can change your state of mind.

Think of this, an opportunity,

To grow a sense of community,

And use the time on your hands.

To think of new creative plans!

Read, perhaps a book a day,

Or make your own ice cream sundae.

Make a giant layered cake,

It is ever so fun to bake!

Maybe you could write a story,

It could be happy, sad, or really gory.

If you can, spend time outside,

Take a walk, or a bike ride.

How to make your spirits rise?

Try doing daily exercise!

You could do a sketch a day,

Or paint all of your fears away.

If you ever feel alone,

Just pick up the telephone.

So if you’re finding times are tough,

And if you’re feeling kinda rough,

Have a think for while,

About which things make you smile.

Even though limited we are,

Imagination can go incredibly far!

So you can find creative ways,

To brighten up these cloudy days.
