Scotland
From Monday 2 November each area of Scotland will be assigned a COVID protection level. There are 5 protection levels, sometimes called 'tiers', they are numbered 0 to 4. Nicola Sturgeon has announced that most areas will go into Level 3 Lockdown.

England
Prime Minister Boris Johnson has announced a second national lockdown for England to prevent a "medical and moral disaster" for the NHS. Hairdressers and gyms will shut along with non-essential shops, leisure and entertainment venues. The lockdown is due to begin at 12.01am on Thursday 5 November, subject to Parliamentary approval, and continue until 2 December. Schools and universities will stay open. Wales
The Welsh Government is operating a short, sharp firebreak across Wales to help regain control of coronavirus. This means that a series of restrictions will be in place from 6pm Friday 23 October until 12:01am Monday 9 November 2020. For more information about what you can and can't do in Wales, click here.
Northern Ireland
Northern Ireland is under a period of intensified coronavirus restrictions after executive ministers agreed to close schools for two weeks, as well as pubs and restaurants. These measures are in addition to current household restrictions, and came into regulatory effect on Friday October 16 and will be in place for a period of four weeks.
