UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson is currently in Rwanda, a country in Africa.
The PM has met Rwandan president Paul Kagame and congratulated him on Rwanda's amazing economic and social development in only a few decades, also approving of the way Rwanda has stood with Ukraine throughout their war with Russia.
The two men talked about sharply rising food, fuel etc. prices, which are affecting both countries deeply, but African countries seem to be the hardest hit by them. These price surges are partly caused by the Ukrainian war and the Covid-19 pandemic.
The leaders also praised the UK-Rwanda Migration and Economic Development Partnership, which is tackling dangerous smugglers bringing illegal items/substances into countries, while helping people get a fresh start to build a new life in a safer country.
Johnson states that he 'hopes that CHOGM (Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting) is a success' for both Britain and Rwanda.
