Quarantine may seem bad at first, but here are my top 10 good things about
staying at home!

1. My family and I are spending more time together doing things which we
all enjoy - cooking, playing board games and chatting! This is making us all
become closer.

2. As we don’t have our usual freedom to ‘pop to the shops’ we are less
wasteful of the food we have at home, and our meals can sometimes be a
little more ‘creative’, which is both good for our finances and the
environment.

3. We are able to spend more time with our dog, she gets more attention and
we get more cuddles in return.

4. This period at home gives us more time to develop new skills. I have
started to learn the guitar and I am having weekly lessons over Skype. My
brother has regular Home Economics lessons with mum, and we are getting
better at helping around the house.

5. Our school days are a little different now. We have the flexibility to fit
our schoolwork round important things like the Joe Wicks morning work
out, baking and family swing ball competitions.

6. We can spend time doing things around the house that we needed to do.
Like weeding the garden, clearing out old clothes and tidying under your
bed!

7. The chance to improve on our fitness. For those regular subscribers, you
might have read my previous article about the Joe Wicks workouts.

8. I have been working on my baking skills, much to the pleasure of my
family, friends and neighbours.

9. As a family, we eat all our meals together now, no one is rushing off to
clubs, meetings and social events!

10. I think the No.1 change our family is
appreciating is that there is no need

to set the alarm in the mornings. We can wake up when we want to, keep
our pyjamas on until lunch time (if my parents allow) and watch a movie all
together under the duvet – #familygoals!
