Ottoline And The Yellow Cat

This book is a page turner, difficult to put down, full of mystery and adventure.
When Tilly gets dared to ice skate on the out of bounds icy lake of the mysterious Frost Hollow Hall, her life takes a dramatic turn of events. She must define reality and search for the truth.
I would say this book is gripping. It is not scary but has a very mysterious and ominous feeling throughout, mixed with small pockets of childlike playful romance. I found myself having to put it down as not to sit and read it for hours. Personally, I thought it was very easy to get into and not a slow burner. The intro pulls in and intrigues the reader.
I liked the character Tilly, she is brave and headstrong but not reckless. There are times when she is trying to put up a brave exterior to others and do what makes her afraid. I feel as though that is a good lesson.
I would absolutely recommend this to readers all ages from young teens to adults. I lent this book to my mum who loved it and said it was one of the quickest books ever she read.
