Odysseus vs. the
Sirens
(21st Century Version)
The
magnificent city of Troy fell down,
Odysseus
returned to his home town,
As he sailed
directly west,
In his path
was The Sirens nest,
Approaching
the island Odysseus said,
Sunshades on,
put ‘em on your head!
Strap me to
the mast with the left over sausages,
With no
sunshades I’ll see those savages!
The Funfair lights lit up the air,
Odysseus
mesmerized by their flare,
The sausages
started to feel the strain,
Odysseus
tugging at them again,
The sailors
standing oh so near,
Helping
themselves to crackers and beer,
The crew
members were getting tired
Off go the
sunshades, their time has expired,
Attracted to
the flashing Siren lights,
Overboard they
go, into the night,
And Odysseus
is left all alone,
Sailing back
to his home…
