I am Harlyn and my time in isolation has been interesting. Interesting in the sense that you never know how you’ll be feeling the next day, for example, some days you may feel rotten, lonely and bored, but other times you could see a giant opportunity to learn something new or to try new things.

If I’m being honest, I am not disliking quarantine a huge amount most of the time! I think it might be because, I love being around my friends don’t get me wrong, but I also really like it at my home in St Agnes. We have a skate ramp half-pipe in the garden and a trampoline too! In my quarantine I am with my younger and older sisters: Bay and Maddie, and my mum and dad: Lucy and Gareth, and my pets! We have 3 dogs: Barley, Obi and Bumble, we also have 2 guinea pigs and 3 cats.

I felt really sorry for Maddie at the start because her birthday was a week after we were told that we couldn’t go out, this was really annoying for her because she wanted to go out with her friends as she was turning 17! But she had to stay at home. My younger sister Bay is in year 6 and so she was really annoyed as well because she was going to miss the last year with all of her friends in the same class… until she saw the news yesterday (year 6s can go back to school in June!) which she was exhilarated about.

When I get out of lockdown I am going to go out with my friends for a skate or a surf because they are by far my favourite sports! I have been skating a lot on my mini ramp outside for the majority of lockdown and I am now so happy that my dad decided to build it for me a couple of weeks into quarantine. Anyway this has been my lockdown experience so far and I hope it continues to spring new opportunities on me!
