Now, lockdown may be over but not everything is open so… what to do? Here are 5 fun things to do outdoors post lockdown!

Zipwire Treks

Nothing can be more exhilarating than flying down a zipwire, 'Oh, to do just one more ride', is the feeling you have afterwards. Well doing a zip trek gives you just that! They can be found all over the country, from parks to huge gorges. It will cost some money but it is definitely worth it.

Hiking

This is a super accessible activity that everybody can do! Almost all towns have somewhere within 30 minutes by car, bus or public transport. It can be done anywhere, from large parks or urban woodland, to the huge Grampian Mountains in the Highlands of Scotland. To be able to just walk is a very freeing feeling. You can also have a great chat with family and friends.

Open Water Swimming

Some people may think that the limits of where you can swim end are at the end of the pool… But no! Opportunities  swim can be found in the most obvious of places, or the most hidden. Places to open water swim range from the sea to a pool you stumble across on one of those hikes I was mentioning! All you need is some swim gear (or not!). Please DON’T swim in dangerous places like Dam Reservoirs or Canals. Also, always make sure you know your limits.

Den Building

This is a fun, simple thing to do. If you know a woodland area, or even have access to a garden, you can build a den. Why not build it on a nice dry day and then go back to test if it is watertight on a rainy one! Build it with friends, siblings, mums, dads and anyone you know. It will definitely give you a super sense of achievement - even if it doesn’t stay up forever.

Have a Fire Pit

Having a fire pit on one of the slightly cooler summer or even autumn days is a lovely thing to do. You can do everything from cooking on it, to enjoying the heat it gives the evening air. If you already have somewhere to enjoy an outdoors fire then you are all sorted, but if not, a ring of rocks is the best way to go about having one. Always remember that if you are having a fire pit you must take away the evidence of it and Leave No Trace.
