The most expensive pens on Earth!

Have you ever thought what the most expensive pen on Earth is? When the question in my house was raised, I was curious to know what it was, and thought the information was worthy to share. Here it is!

Top 5 most expensive pens on Earth (starting with least expensive):

5)  Montblanc Mystery Masterpiece

This extraordinary pen costs $730,000 (£531,107, that is) and has a beautiful design. A part of the pen is made from white gold (even the nib is gold!) with 800+ diamonds and 3 very special gems: rubies, sapphires and emeralds! This delight was shown to the public in 2007, and it was the most expensive fountain pen in the world at that time, but isn’t even that big. Can you imagine this?!

4) Caran d’Ache 1010 Diamond Edition

Worth $1,000,000 (£727, 545), Caran d’Ache 1010’s body is wrapped in a transparent casing to make it look like a skeleton watch design. There are three editions of this pen which are: silver, gold and diamond, however the diamond edition is the most expensive. The name of this pen comes from a very funny origin - I would say it’s quite smart. 10 minutes past 10 (for some reason) is considered the most aesthetic position of clock hands, and that is how this pen gets its name.

3) Aurora Diamante

This pen’s name sounds the best out of all, personally. It costs $1,470,000 (£1,069,645) and is made up of over 2,000 diamonds! Wow! The thing that makes it special is that at the nib of the pen, you can engrave your initials. This about that – a diamond pen which has your name on it! Aurora Diamante is the only pen which has the option of customisation and is therefore considered exclusive and unique.

2) Montblanc Boheme Royal

Be prepared for another Montblanc pen – and this time, they have gone big. It is the second most pricey pen, which costs $1,500,000 (£1,091, 190)! It is made of 18 karat white gold and 1,400 diamonds of the highest grade. The diamonds are placed to make an aesthetically pleasing design, with slightly coloured diamond pieces. The unique thing about this pen, however, is that is one of the only fountain pens that has a nib which is retractable. The Montblanc Boheme Royal sure does leave your mouth wide open!

1) Tibaldi Fulgor Nocturnus

And here is the most expensive pen is the universe! This masterpiece has the most exquisite pattern, using 945 black diamonds and the Divine Proportion of Phi. The Divine Proportion of Phi (also known as the Golden Ratio) is when the pen’s cap and length of its barrel, is exactly 1.618, and this is what makes it so costly! The name of the pen is Italian and translates to ‘Night Glow’. I would say the name matches the pen and sounds grander than ever. Tibaldi Fulgor Nocturnus costs… drumrolls please… $8,000,000 (£5,821,240)!!! This price is way off from the second most expensive pen, Montblanc Boheme Royal, and with this much money, you could buy several houses. Wow!

Personally, my favourite pens are Aurora Diamante and Montblanc Boheme Royal because I think their designs are the most intricate and appealing to the eye, worth the price. If I bought them, I would not use them and instead keep them in a showcase, because they would definitely be too heavy to write with! What about you? Maybe you could research it and see which one you think is the best?
