Smart Motorways, aren't actually smart. There have been so many more deaths on the motorway now they have been introduced. A smart motorway claims you can speed up traffic, by using the hard shoulder as a lane. This means if you break down you will get hit into. This would not have been such a problem if the government had enforced parking spaces with lots of traffic wardens. But it takes 20 minutes for the traffic police to arrive, by which time at least a hundred cars might have hit into you. This is a serious threat to hundreds of thousands of holiday goers, as everyone flocks around the country, because of quarantine and staycations.

Earlier today, I got stuck for fifteen minutes because of one broken down car!! Luckily, the people were okay, but drivers swerved on and off the closed lane. Those actions could have killed someone. The silly thing is, despite these incidents, the government is still building 'smart motorways' all across the country. Join the fight. Safety is not a privilege.
