In August 2018 one girl began to attract lots of media attention from what she was doing. This girl was Greta Thunberg, a girl who was school striking outside the parliament with a sign saying Skolstrejk for kilmate which translates into school strikes for climate. She did this make people and the government in particular more aware of what was going on in our world and so that people realised the damage that people in our world had created towards the environment. Now this week is week 100 and she has nearly been doing these school strikes every week for 2 years.
She started of only striking one day a week, on Friday’s but as time went on she started spending more time sitting outside the Riksdag, school striking than in school and repeatedly did this because she believed the world could change and because she cared so much about our world and it’s environment. Over time Greta drew lot’s of publicity towards her and created social media accounts, where she shared crucial facts and information about what was happening in our world. This was great for her because she got a big social media platform where she could share all the valuable information people needed to know and even became an environmental activist because of all the good, help and information she had spread to make people more aware. Now I personally believe that she has helped people become more aware and careful about the environment around us which in the long run will hopefully result on a positive change for our environment.
No one is too small to make a difference.
