As someone who reads for fun I honestly think reading is not only good for our vocabulary and sleep, but also for our mental health as well as helping us to understand people. In this article I’m going to discuss why.


Firstly with the help of a book you can experience almost any situation (real or fantasy) as anybody. This can help us to understand all types of people, as you have a better understanding of what they might be going through, as it was the same as a character’s experience.


If you look at in a slightly different perspective a book is like a portal to literally anywhere. It doesn’t even have to be on this planet on this universe! Your body could be sitting in your room or in a park but you mind could be on the moon. You can also time travel with the help of books. Isn’t that cool? So when you have had a particularly bad day you can be transported to Paris in 2245 and your worries and problems just wash away as you become engulfed by the plot.


Those are the main reasons why I think reading is so important and I would heavily recommend just picking up a book you like the look of and giving it a try as you might really enjoy it.
