This is a brilliant novel, written from the point of view of an autistic teenager called Christopher Boone. It is a murder mystery written from a completely different perspective. Although he has never gone further than the end of the road by himself, Christopher’s world is turned upside down when he finds his neighbour’s dog stabbed dead with a garden fork. Although he is exceptionally adept at maths, Christopher hates being touched and going to new places, so this book makes for very exciting reading, as he tries to uncover the mystery behind the murder of the dog in the night-time.
