Chocolate Truffles

This is a very easy, fun recipe (although it is a little messy!) It makes around 20 delicious truffles that can be eaten as an afternoon treat or as a quick desert.

Ingredients:

1 tin of condensed milk

20 digestive biscuits, crushed into crumbs with a rolling pin

5 tablespoons of drinking chocolate

5 tablespoons of desiccated coconut, plus extra for decoration

75 grams of butter

Method:

1. Melt the butter in a small saucepan

2. Once melted, stir in the condensed milk until it is all mixed in

3. Pour the condensed milk/butter mixture into a large bowl and stir in the 5 tablespoons of coconut and 5 tablespoons of chocolate

4. Add the crushed biscuits slowly, stirring in between each addition

5. Now you are ready for assembly! Before you begin, it is important to set up your station as your hands will soon become rather sticky: Put the coconut for decoration onto a dish and on another plate lay out small cake cases ( not the large ones used for cupcakes) If you can't find these then baking parchment on a plate works just as well.

6. Using a teaspoon, scoop a blob of the chocolatey mixture on to your hand and roll into a ball, then coat it in coconut and place it in a case. Repeat this process with all of your mixture

7. Once you have done this, put your truffles in the fridge to set for an hour or so.

8. Enjoy!
