My name is Hope and I live in Edinburgh, in Scotland. I am an only child, so I am isolating with only my Mum and my Dad. I really miss being able to go out and see my friends and extended family as I haven’t seen them in ages!

My average day looks something like this; I get up and log on to school from home and eat my breakfast by roughly 8.40am. I then work up until my break, which I have at 10.30. Then I start work again until I have my lunch at 12.30. After lunch, I restart at 1pm and finish at around 4pm.

I am doing learning from my dining room table, which I am finding quite challenging because I am a social person who benefits from being around people for motivation. With my Dad working from home from his study upstairs and me schooling downstairs, it’s very quiet in our house!

I am worried about the impact on small businesses which might not cope without people using their services. This is worrying me because they are run by people who are now in a vulnerable situation and I find that thought really sad.

I can see a few positives about this situation. I think this is a good time to reconnect with your family and to take time away from other people and distractions. It also seems like a good time to discover other, possibly better ways of doing things, that you may never have discovered if this hadn’t occurred.

The first thing I would like to do once we come out of lockdown is go and see my cousins in England, as I am missing them so much. We don’t see them much anyway but this has been the longest time we haven’t seen them so that is definitely top of my list!
