When first the idea of Isolation was broached, I did not truly realize how limited and lonely life, as I knew it, would become. No more visits to my family or abroad, no outside activities, no more bridge sessions and only total self- absorption. I intended cleaning all the draws and cupboards, sorting the correspondence, discarding well-worn and unloved clothes, but instead, becoming increasingly lethargic, talking too long on the phone and reading until the we small hours. However, I am overwhelmed by my wonderful neighbours, who not only keep an eye out for me, but also shop, bake, sort my Iplayer (I am strictly non-technical) and generally spoil me – many thanks! While medically agreeing with the concept of ‘Isolation’ I look forward to some relaxation soon of the rules, as a session with ‘Zoom’ does not replace big hugs from the family.
