Lots of things are opening up and today I went to my orthodontist appointment to get my braces changed. To be honest, I was a little nervous about how everything would be. I had to wait outside before someone came to the door and let me in.
There were plastic screens over the reception desk where I helped myself to some hand sanitizer, as instructed. I was then taken to the back waiting area. I sat there for a while, as the receptionists gossiped about things. It was strangely normal but at the same time different. I then got called in. I had previously been told that the dentists would be wearing protective gear and I had been preparing for full white suits, but instead they wore disposable plastic aprons, masks and visors. This made me feel more comfortable. I sat down in the dentist's chair as usual before they asked me to pull down my mask, and they started working on my braces. After that everything was like normal. On my way out I used the hand sanitizer again and they told me that next time I came back I would get my braces off. I was happy because the experience was neither scary nor stressful, so if you have an orthodontist appointment don’t worry, it’s not as bad as it sounds.
