Sometimes, all we need is a good book to cheer us up, but the question is: which one? 

Recently, I have read many 2020-2021-published interesting books in very different types of genres (like fantasy, dystopian, adventure, mystery and thriller) which I would like to recommend to anyone who is hunting for books to keep you on your toes. 

Note: these books have NOT been placed in any particular order. 

1) Run, Rebel

Run, Rebel is a book told in a form of loads of differently shaped and formed poems which will truly touch your heart. Once you start reading, you will be gripped, and won’t stop...

When Life Gives You Mangos is a book filled with love, friendship and twists. It’s a mind-blowingly amazing book which will leave you gawping and wanting more. Your eyes won’t leave the page!

3) Wink

Wink. This book is so uniquely different to the many other recent books I’ve read, and it has entertained me like no other book has. It touches your heart, but, at the same time, it makes you laugh ‘till you can no more!

4) A Day in the Life of a Poo, a Gnu and You 

By Mike Barfield  

I normally am not interested by non-fiction books, but I was fascinated by everything about this book. The graphics (and sometimes lame puns) really helped in grabbing my interest and attention and I learnt many, many, many more facts about lots of animals after reading this book.

5) When Stars are Scattered 

By Omar Mohamed and Victoria Jamieson 

This book and this story have been told so well through beautifully drawn detailed graphic pictures and small text. I felt like crying throughout the book, sometimes tears of sadness and sometimes tears of happiness. I definitely recommend this book to avid readers and artists. 

Genre: Fictional Graphic Novel

Where can you find these books? 

Mostly all of these books will probably be available at your local library, and maybe even your school library, if you have one.
