The Grammys 2021 was held yesterday — 14th March 2021 — at and around the Los Angeles Convention Center. It was hosted by the comedian Trevor Noah and many artists received recognition for their work at this award ceremony.

However, one person who really stood out was Beyoncé. She was nominated a whooping nine times, which was the most, followed by six nominations for Taylor Swift, Dua Lipa and Roddy Rich. Out of the nine nominations, she also won the most awards: a total of four. Adding these four additional Grammys, Beyoncé has now an amazing total of 28 Grammys. This is the second-most in the history of Grammys, preceded by Georg Solti with 31 wins and tied with Quincy Jones. She is the female artist with the most won Grammy awards, most nominations, and most Grammys won in one night.

Though Taylor Swift’s achievement of the night were not as big as Beyoncé’s, she made history by winning Album of the Year three times and being the only female artist to have done so. Once for her 2010 album Fearless, 1989 album released in 2016 and now for her lockdown album, Folklore. The only other artists who have won this award thrice are Frank Sinatra, Paul Simon and Stevie Wonder.

Other big awards of the night were:

Song of the year: H.E.R. - I Can't Breathe

Record of the year: Billie Eilish - Everything I Wanted

Best new artist: Megan Thee Stallion

Album of the year: Taylor Swift - Folklore

Best pop solo performance: Harry Styles - Watermelon Sugar
