There are a lot of negative things that come with being a ginger that I will never understand,
The way it is used as an insult, the way it gives people something to tease others about, the way being ginger is looked upon by so many people as a bad thing.
Only 1-2% of people have naturally red hair so shouldn't it make you unique rather then a target for bulling?
I myself don't mind people describing me as 'the ginger' or 'the redhead' but I do not appreciate being called a 'carrot top' or a 'leprechaun' like I have been in many situations.
I don't mind being referred to as 'the ginger' because I am quite proud of my ginger hair and it has always been a part of me and who I am. But I do appreciate that other people with ginger hair may find this offensive as they don't see their hair colour as something that should define them which I completely understand.
One of the times that I wished I didn't have ginger hair was the time when a boy in my year came up to me and started singing an utterly disrespectful song and stating that 'I shouldn't have been born' just because of the way I looked.
If you are wondering I have had many encounters with people saying dreadful things like this in the past.
But I have learnt to look over people like this and I now know not to lower myself down to their level to put up with their stupidity, as I suggest everyone reading this does as well.
So to all the ginger haired people out there:
You are so, so much better then that!
