As a language learner I understand that learning a new language can be rather tricky so here are some of my top tips to make it just a little bit easier.

- Firstly: the internet has many free language learning resources, such as Quizlet, Memorise and Languages Online. I recommend that you take advantage of these - if you do a little often, you will find your vocabulary in the language and grammatical understanding improving. If you find yourself forgetting the vocabulary or grammar go back to it and practice using it.

- Expose yourself to the language. Today on many streaming services you can add subtitles to what you are watching in the language you want and you have access to a large array of dubs in many languages, so if you want watch a show or film you're familiar with in the language that you are learning, you definitely should. To expose yourself to a language you could also listen to music in that language. I recommend doing this as the more you are exposed to a language the more you will understand it (this is one of the ways we learn our native language).

- Try having conversations in that language. This helps you to get used to many things, such as pronouncing the language and thinking on your feet. So if you know someone who speaks the language, try having a conversation with then in that language. If not (I know this might seem a bit strange), you can have a conversation with yourself.

- Don't be afraid of making mistakes, because we all do, and from the mistake you can grow and learn. Sure, at the time it might seem incredibly embarrassing, but making mistakes is just a natural part of learning, and if you don't put yourself out there you won't learn as much.

- Learn vocabulary about subjects that you find yourself talking about lots in your native language or phrases that you use lots. This not only helps to broaden your vocabulary but you will also use the words and phrases more, meaning you will be less likely to forget them.

- Actually go to a country where they speak the language, where you will be surrounded by not only the language but a lot of culture as well. This gives you an opportunity to learn more about the culture while putting your language skills to the test, and remember it doesn't matter if you mess up as you will learn from it - it's just part of the process of learning a language.

- Finally learn the pronunciation of the alphabet as well as common letter pairings in that language as when you know these you can pronounce almost any word, and if the language is phonetic (spelt how it sounds) you can spell almost any word as well.

Just remember learning a language is no easy task but it can seem easy if you put in the effort and want to learn. Thank you for reading this article, I hope this has helped you with learning a language.
